Dry Claw Vacuum Pumps and Compressors BUSCH MINK MA 0018 A Series

The Mink MA 0018 A is a claw compressor developed specifically to compress or transport air and gases in mobile applications under extreme conditions. It is resistant to severe vibration, and may be operated in temperatures between -40 °C and +100 °C and at elevations between -1,000 m and 4,000 m.

The Mink MA 0018 A claw compressor is a consequence of decades of experience in countless applications, and the result of continuous further development in claw vacuum and overpressure technology by the market leader in dry claw technology.

Compression is contact-free and completely dry. The pumped medium is not contaminated, and may be used later without filtration or cleaning.

The contact-free operating principle of claw technology provides the additional benefit of maintenance-free operation. The Mink MA 0018 A claw compressor has a maintenance- free life cycle of 12,000 operating hours. None of the internal moving parts of the compressor come in contact with each other, so components are not subject to wear.

Servicing tasks such as inspection and replacement of worn parts are eliminated completely. No operating fluids are present in the compression chamber: This dry compression means no costs arise for the purchase, replacement and disposal of operating fluids.

The outstanding reliability and long lifetime of Mink claw compressors are also a result of the contact-free and dry compression. As no internal wear occurs, the volume flow remains constantly high throughout the entire life cycle of the compressor.

Optional speed control by CAN or 0– 5 V analogic communication allows the volume flow to be altered dynamically so that Mink MA 0018 A claw compressors always operate within the most efficient output range. The CAN system permits parameters such as speed, power consumption and temperature to be permanently recorded and controlled.

Technical specifications

Mink claw compressors feature two clawshaped rotors that move in opposite directions, mounted in a housing. The shape of these claw rotors extracts, compresses and expels air or gas. The rotors do not come in contact with each other or the housing, so no lubricants or operating fluids are required in the compression chamber. The minimal clearance between the rotors and the chamber housing optimizes the internal seal and ensures constantly high volume flows. A synchronizing gearbox maintains precise rotor timing. Mink claw compressors are driven by a brushless direct current motor (12/24 V).
